Zone Alerts & Routes

Which zones does Tracklio check?

London's Congestion Charge, ULEZ and LEZ, every Clean Air Zone in the UK, such as Birmingham and Bradford, Oxford's zone charges, UK tolls, and the Silvertown and Blackwall tunnels.

Which areas does Tracklio cover?

Charging zone checks cover London's Congestion Charge, ULEZ and LEZ, plus Clean Air Zones, tolls and tunnels across the UK. Free parking, bay timers and restricted-bay alerts currently cover six council areas, including Camden, Kensington and Chelsea, Edinburgh and Warwickshire.

Will Tracklio cover my area?

We add new areas as we check each council's parking data, so the information you get is accurate. Join our updates and we'll tell you when your area goes live.

Can I check my journey before I leave?

Yes. Enter where you're going and Tracklio shows every charging zone on your route, when each one is in force, and an estimated charge for your car.

How is the charge estimate worked out?

Tracklio uses your car's fuel type and emissions standard from official DVLA records, and each zone's published rules, to estimate what applies to you. Charges and exemptions can change, so the official zone website always has the final word.

How do zone alerts work while I'm driving?

Start turn-by-turn navigation in Tracklio. As you approach a supported zone, the app warns you on screen and by voice, including the hours the zone is in force.

Do I need to use navigation to get zone alerts?

Yes. Zone alerts work while you're navigating with Tracklio, so the app knows where you're heading and can warn you in time.

Can I turn off voice alerts?

Yes. You can mute voice alerts at any time during navigation and still see alerts on screen.

Where do I pay a zone charge?

You pay through the official service for each zone, such as TfL for London or the relevant council's Clean Air Zone website. Tracklio helps you know what's due and when.

Smart Parking & Fines

Can Tracklio show me free parking?

Yes, in the areas we cover. Tracklio shows free on-street parking, limited-waiting bays and bays outside their operating hours, then directs you there.

What is a limited-waiting bay?

A bay where anyone can park for free, but only for a set time, such as 2 hours, during certain hours. Tracklio shows the limit so you know how long you can stay.

What happens if I stop in a restricted bay?

Tracklio alerts you straight away and shows the bay's operating hours and restrictions, so you can move before it becomes a problem.

How does the parking timer work?

When you've parked, set a timer based on the bay's rules. Tracklio reminds you before your time runs out, so you're less likely to get a ticket.

What is a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ)?

An area where on-street parking is restricted during set hours, usually to permit holders or paid bays. Signs at the zone entrance show the hours. Tracklio shows them on your screen instead.

Does Tracklio show if a parking space is free right now?

Tracklio shows where you can park and when, based on each bay's rules. It doesn't show whether a space is currently taken by another car.

Can I find car parks too?

Yes. Tracklio shows car parks near you or your destination, sorted by distance.

Can Tracklio tell me when I get a parking ticket?

PCN alerts are coming soon. We're building them directly with councils so the information is accurate. Join the waitlist on our download page and we'll let you know when they're live in your area.

What's the difference between a Penalty Charge Notice and a Parking Charge Notice?

A Penalty Charge Notice is issued by a council or TfL. A Parking Charge Notice is issued by a private car park operator. Both are often called PCNs, but they follow different rules for paying and appealing.

Can I pay or appeal a ticket in Tracklio?

Not yet. Pay or appeal through the council or operator named on your notice. Many councils halve the charge if you pay within 14 days, so check the date on the letter.

Vehicle Admin & Fuel

Where does my vehicle information come from?

When you add your number plate, Tracklio finds your vehicle's details from official DVLA records and your MOT details through the DVSA MOT History API, the official source for MOT records in Great Britain.

How do MOT and insurance reminders work?

Your MOT date comes from official DVSA records. Add your insurance renewal date and Tracklio tracks it from there. You'll get a reminder before each one is due, so renewals don't slip.

Can I book my MOT through Tracklio?

Yes. Book with trusted MOT partners in a few taps, with your vehicle details already filled in.

Can I add more than one vehicle?

Yes, on the paid plan. The free plan covers one vehicle, and the paid plan lets you add more, each with its own MOT and insurance reminders.

Where do the fuel prices come from?

Fuel prices come from the UK Government's Fuel Finder scheme, so you can compare live petrol and diesel prices at stations near you.

Can I find EV charge points?

Yes. Tracklio shows public EV charge points near you, so you can plan a top-up as part of your journey.
